ABOUT THE PROGRAM
In today’s rapidly evolving business environment, organisations can no longer afford to approach workforce needs simply by filling vacancies as they arise. Having enough people is not the same as having the right people. Building a capable and sustainable workforce requires organisations to anticipate manpower needs, identify critical competencies and make sound people decisions that support both immediate operational requirements and longer-term organisational priorities.
Yet many organisations continue to struggle with workforce gaps, mismatched capabilities, poor selection outcomes, high employee turnover and individuals who may be technically qualified but are not the right fit for the role, team or organisation. When workforce and talent decisions are driven by immediate manpower pressures, intuition or isolated assessment methods, organisations risk making costly people decisions; resulting in repeated hiring cycles, lost productivity, disengagement and valuable time spent correcting decisions that could have been better informed from the beginning.
Strategic Workforce Planning & People Decisions: Building the Right Workforce Through Evidence-Based Talent Practices is designed to help organisations
move from reactive manpower responses to more strategic, structured and evidence-based workforce decisions.
Through an integrated approach, participants will learn how to connect workforce requirements with competencies, talent sourcing, assessment, behavioural evidence, individual differences, job and organisational fit, and professional judgement. Rather than relying on any single method, participants will learn to consider multiple sources of evidence to make more objective, consistent and defensible people decisions.
The programme takes participants through eight interconnected stages of the workforce decision journey; from understanding what people and capabilities the organisation needs, to identifying and assessing talent, evaluating suitability and fit, integrating evidence, making confident decisions and supporting successful onboarding and early talent retention.
Through practical workshops, case discussions, assessment exercises and interactive activities, participants will experience how decisions made at one stage can influence outcomes at the next. Over two intensive days, participants will gain practical tools and approaches to anticipate workforce needs, identify the capabilities that matter, assess talent more effectively and make better-informed people decisions.
Ultimately, the programme is about moving beyond simply filling positions towards building a workforce where the right capabilities are matched to the right roles at the right time; strengthening workforce readiness, organisational fit and sustainable talent success.
