ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Managers often delay important conversations because they worry about conflict, emotional reactions, damaging relationships or saying the wrong thing. As a result, small workplace issues slowly grow into larger performance, behaviour and accountability problems.
A company’s management team directly impacts many areas of the organisation ranging from employee productivity and retention to workplace culture, communication standards and overall team effectiveness.
This Conversations Leaders Avoid workshop is a two-day, highly practical experience designed for new and seasoned managers or team leaders who need to manage performance, behaviour and expectations with more confidence especially when carrots or sticks are no longer effective. Instead of learning through long lectures, participants learn through guided workplace simulations, structured practice and realistic role plays where every conversation reveals real management habits.
Managers will experience how quickly small issues become big when expectations are unclear, follow-through is inconsistent, or feedback is delayed then learn a simple way to handle it early and professionally. Participants will strengthen their leadership presence, clarity in expectations and ability to manage different employee realities (probation vs full-time vs long-term staff). The workshop also addresses the challenges of working within a multi-generational workplace, where communication styles, expectations, and attitudes towards feedback can complicate everyday management conversations. Short facilitator-led micro-lessons are woven into activities to keep learning sharp, practical and immediately usable at work.
This carefully curated program is anchored by the signature method, ALIGN Conversations, a repeatable framework managers can use to correct issues, reset expectations, give constructive feedback and reinforce good performance without creating defensiveness or conflict. Every module ends with a structured debrief that converts practice into a manager’s conversation playbook and a clear action plan for immediate workplace application.
